LA Made: Japanese Taiko Drumming

About the Event

This program will introduce audiences of all ages to Japanese taiko drumming through performances of traditional and contemporary repertoire. With over 20 years of training in Japan, and 5 years of touring experience with one of the world's leading taiko groups, Isaku Kageyama will teach about the history and cultural significance of taiko drums, and at the conclusion of the program, audience members can learn taiko rhythms and play them on the drums.

This performance will be outdoors, in front of the branch.
