The Woods all Black

This engrossing slim novel set in 1920s Appalachia finds Leslie assigned to help a small community through a nursing service. They see a failed woman, but he knows he can handle it all until he sees the community's hatred focused on a young person who refuses to conform. As violence simmers, the woods may hold the key to freedom.
