Do you love graphic novels? Does your family get tired of having to talk about Watchmen - again? Looking for someone to geek out with you over the new stuff from Brian K. Vaughan? Then this is the club for you!
This month, we are reading Assorted Crisis Events Vol. 1 by Deniz Camp and Eric Zawadzki. This action-packed sci-fi anthology series follows normal people navigating an alternate world where time is having a crisis, and just stepping outside your door can send you on an unexpected adventure. Mingling in the red-light district, you can find actual troglodytes, medieval knights, and cyborg soldiers on leave from World War IV. Victorian debutantes amble their way into cell phone stores, confused and bewildered (what is a data plan?). On their way to work, bleary-eyed commuters get trapped in time loops, assaulted by alternate-reality versions of themselves, and try to avoid post-apocalyptic wastelands. And LOOK: the 3:15 bus just took a wrong turn...into the Neolithic era. Check out this title on hoopla with your library card.
