Participate in Summer With the Library by picking up a game board at any Los Angeles Public Library location.

You can also take part online through Beanstack or by using the Beanstack mobile app. Be sure to visit your local library to collect your participation prizes (while supplies last).


Earn badges for reading and completing fun, learning-based activities.

  • Read for one hour = 1 badge
  • Complete an activity = 1 badge
  • Finish the Summer With the Library Challenge by earning 10 badges, through any combination of reading and/or activities.

Once you have finished the challenge, bring your completed game board to your local Los Angeles Public Library location and collect your completion prizes (while supplies last). Everyone who completes the challenge can be entered into drawings to win prizes like gift cards or a new Apple iPad.

Books About Swimming & Water Safety

Make a splash this summer with a free pool pass! Beginning June 6, you can visit your local branch of the Los Angeles Public Library and pick up a free, one-day family pool pass. Passes can be redeemed at any L.A. City Pool from June 13 - September 7, 2026, and are good for one free pool visit for one family, up to four people. Supplies are limited, so please check with your local library for availability.
