LA Made: Lino Cutting
About the Event
Learn how to carve and print your own linoleum print, or linocut. We’ll start with the basics of carving, including how to get textures and effects. After, you’ll get to print your block on our portable printing press to create an edition of prints! You’ll leave with several copies of your print, as well as your carved linoleum block.
We will guide students through sketching their design, transferring it to the block, carving it, and printing it. This activity can be a little messy due to the use of acrylic ink for printing and involves using a sharp tool to carve the block.
