    Interested in learning Korean? Join us for an introduction to the Korean language and culture. This beginner-friendly class is taught by an instructor from the King Sejong Institute.

تُعدّ المكتبة المركزية الرئيسية المقرّ الرئيسي لمكتبة لوس أنجلوس العامة، التي تضمّ 72 فرعًا. وهي ثالث أكبر مكتبة مركزية في الولايات المتحدة، إذ تحتوي أقسامها المتخصصة على أكثر من 2.8 مليون كتاب، و5000 اشتراك في المجلات، وأكثر من 3 ملايين صورة فوتوغرافية، و10 ملايين براءة اختراع أمريكية للوصول الرقمي، بالإضافة إلى مواد تعليم اللغات والوسائط المتعددة. وتضمّ المكتبة المركزية تسعة أقسام متخصصة تقدّم خدمات مرجعية متنوعة، سواءً عبر المكتب أو الهاتف أو البريد أو البريد الإلكتروني أو الدردشة. ويمكن للمستفيدين في جميع أنحاء المدينة طلب المواد وشحنها إلى الفرع المحليّ للمستعير.

نظرة عامة على مبنى المكتبة المركزية

افتُتحت المكتبة المركزية التاريخية عام 1926 وسط إشادة واسعة، وهي تستقبل سكان لوس أنجلوس وزوارها منذ قرابة قرن. تُعتبر المكتبة تحفة معمارية ، وتشتهر بمعالمها المميزة كالهرم المُغطى بالبلاط على السطح، والقاعة المستديرة الواسعة المُزينة بالرسومات الجدارية، وجناحها الحديث الذي افتُتح عام 1993.

يضم المبنى مساحة 538,000 قدم مربع موزعة على ثمانية طوابق، ورفوفًا يبلغ طولها حوالي 89 ميلًا، ومقاعد تتسع لأكثر من 1,400 شخص. كما يتوفر 255 جهاز كمبيوتر للاستخدام العام مجانًا في مركز الكمبيوتر وفي أنحاء متفرقة من المبنى. وتتوفر أيضًا خدمة الإنترنت عبر شبكة الواي فاي. وتستخدم مدرسة لوس أنجلوس الموحدة الثانوية (LAUSD Downtown Magnets High School) المكتبة المركزية كفصل دراسي.
