T.A.P.E. The Home Archive

Interested in media preservation? This workshop will be a synthesis of all T.A.P.E. A/V preservation workshops centered specifically around home media preservation, damage prevention, and autonomy around proprietary born digital file creation and storage. A suggested routine for digital file health and longevity will be covered along with a survey of different memory storage options available. Some introduction to command line tools will be covered, no experience necessary. 
 

Requirements: Laptop (Mac or Windows) recommended, not required for lecture portions

T.A.P.E. is a Los Angeles-based 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to facilitating support for analog media through free digitizing, education, hands-on-training, equipment rentals & volunteer opportunities.
