Summer Synchronicities: An Interplay Between Poets and Artists
About the Event
Join us for Summer Synchronicities, a celebration of the affinities between poetry and visual art curated by Andrea Liss.
Writers and artists present their work as they reveal the fine lines where their media beautifully coalesce. This program is inspired by the inventive interplays created by artists internationally during the early to mid-twentieth century, often including references to sound and music. Their "synchronicities" played on the harmonies between sound (as in symphonic), color (as in chromatic), visual imagery, poetry, typography, and more, creating work based on these analogies. The artists and writers participating in this summer event continue to explore the creative spaces that overlap among different media, bringing new meaning and vivacity to their work and their communities.
