Christiane Desroches-Noblecourt was born in Paris, France, November 17, 1913. Her lifelong passion for Egypt began as a toddler and led to her becoming the world’s leading expert on ancient Egypt. She led expeditions that uncovered, preserved and saved major Egyptian antiquities, including the Abu Simbel Temples.
