USC Kids Fish Workshops
About the Event
Fun Interactive Science Hour (FISH) is a project that aims to improve access for all kids to ocean science literacy through free hands-on experiments. Our main goal is to relate – make connections – between the kids and the natural world. By helping to make these connections, we hope that these kids will grow up loving and caring for the natural environment that they understand they are part of (being better citizens of the world!) The workshops contain a series of hands-on experiments on diverse topics related to the ocean that were developed to foster the following discussions:
- How can we use scientific thinking to help us protect our natural world?
- What does it take to think like a scientist? Can I be a scientist?
- How do scientific experiments work? Can I do them at home?
For disability-related accommodations, please call (213) 228-7430 at least five business days prior to the event. The City will make every effort to accommodate requests received with less notice.
