Linoleum Printmaking - Cards and Broadsides

About the Event

Discover the art of linocut printing in this hands-on workshop! Learn how to carve your own design into a linoleum block and explore techniques for creating a variety of textures and effects. Once your design is complete, you’ll use our portable printing press to print your block, creating a small edition of prints or unique greeting cards.

You’ll leave with several prints of your own design, along with your carved linoleum block to use again in future projects. All materials and printing equipment will be provided, and all experience levels are welcome—from beginners to seasoned creatives.

Materials Provided:

  • Linoleum block
  • Lino carving tools
  • Paper
  • Pencils
  • Printing ink

Space is limited to 12 participants and will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Please RSVP at the link above to reserve your spot.

Please note: This activity involves carving with sharp tools and using printing ink, so some mess is possible. Participants will be guided through the carving and printing process, with an emphasis on safe tool handling and creative exploration.

For disability-related accommodations, please call (213) 228-7430 at least five business days prior to the event. The City will make every effort to accommodate requests received with less notice.
